VITROSTASH

Development of a new storage system to work within the industry standard storage containers yielding nearly double the storage capacity of cryopreserved embryos. The system is a cost effective way for labs to increase capacity within their existing space and infrastructure.

SOLUTION

Work with leading scientists and technicians in teh IVF space to develop a user friendly high capacity system to work within current storage units (dewars)

The project was a success and is currently being sold and distributed worldwide to IVF labs

ETA DEVICES

IFR ENCLOSURES

Time sensitive design and production of five enclosures, each holding three PC boards at different elevations with floating rail mount systems and a a custom heat sink for the high power components. Design was completed using DXF files of PC Boards and over 30 documents detailing through-wall components and board competent dictating enclosure constraints and cooling requirements. Photorealistic renderings were generated for meetings before the first enclosures were delivered.

PROBLEM

High stakes design and production for board meetings and ETA client testing

SOLUTION

The project was accepted, designed, and enclosure manufactured in a time frame of three weeks.

OASIS INC.

GLIDER BOX & TOWFISH

Ocean Acoustical Services and Instrumentation Systems, Inc. required specialized enclosures for underwater electronics. Final design and fabrication delivered on cost, on time, and on spec in support of a US Navy research contract in 2016.

CLIENT

OASIS, Inc., based in Lexington, MA, are experts in underwater and airborne acoustics, structural acoustics, noise control technologies, and instrumentation and data acquisition systems.

PROBLEM

Critical path components needed to support a research contract for a novel underwater acoustics measurement platform.

SOLUTION

Forgione Engineering took initial designs and finalized them to ensure the Gliderbox and Towfish enclosures met the form factors specified and did not leak at operating depths. Fabrication was performed on-time and on-spec to ensure delivery on schedule.

PROJECT METRICS

In-situ testing at a Pacific test range was successfully completed on time and on budget (Fall 2016).

Rocket Shipping Fixtures

Relativity builds reusable rockets that make access to space more reliable and routine—empowering science, exploration, and innovation beyond our planet. They contracted Forgione Engineering about the need for a rocket fixture that would safely transport a rocket from California to Cape Canaveral, FL.

A custom rocket fixture was needed to transport a rocket from California to Cape Canaveral, FL with no damage to the rocket. Fixture needed to be secure, compliant with regulations, and made within a deadline

SOLUTION

Highly structured, rigorous shipping fixture that took extensive planning, modelling, and fabrication.

SECOND STAGE CHECKOUT QD ASSEMBLIES

They contracted Forgione Engineering about a second stage checkout QD assembly for cryogenic liquid connection/disconnection during pre-launch operations.

CLIENT

PROBLEM

Relativity was preparing to launch a rocket, but needed specialty manufactured components such as the pins and bushings for the launch rocket engine nozzle support plugs.

CAPE COD BUILDER

Falmouth House

A drilling rig was tipped over onto the Contoocook River in Peterborough New Hampshire, causing significant delays to the $8 million bridge project on U.S. Route 202. Forgione Engineering, Inc. was tasked with engineering the recovery and righting of the rig.

CLIENT

PROBLEM

Significant delays to a U.S. Route 202 bridge project in Peterborough, NH caused by a tipper drilling rig with multiple Degrees Of Freedom in rotation, and already loaded with materials from the job.

SOLUTION

The successful recover of the rig using four wreckers, rotators, and an excavator simultaneously to right the machine. Rigorous measurements, surveys, 3D modeling, and rigging calculations were performed, before a written plan by stakeholders was reviewed and approved.

PROJECT METRICS

Further delays were circumvented from dismantling the rig. The project was completed with the same drill rig, ending traffic delays.
